Gypsy Rose Lee (Born Rose Louise Hovick 1911-1970) was an American burlesque entertainer, famous for her striptease act. She was also an actress and writer, whose 1957 memoir, written as a monument to her mother Rose, was made into the stage musical and film Gypsy. GYPSY is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother. Join Rose, June and Louise in their trip across the United States during the 1920's, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born.
